Sesame Chicken
Cuisine: Chinese Local Style Recipe
  • Chicken
  • 6 boneless chicken thighs, cut into 1½ inch cubes
  • 1½ cups cornstarch
  • Sauce:
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted
  • 1 ginger (about an inch), grated
  • ¼ cup green onions, finely sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • ¼ cup green onions, finely sliced
  • Peanut oil for frying
  1. Chicken: Coat chicken with cornstarch and refrigerate for an hour.
  2. Sauce: In a saucepan, mix soy sauce, sugar, sesame seeds and ginger. Cook over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Stir in green onions and sesame oil.
  3. Fry: Lightly coat chicken with cornstarch before frying. Deep fry chicken pieces in peanut oil until light brown and cooked through. Drain chicken on paper towels and dip in sauce.
Try this with chicken breast or tenders, and you can also use canola oil as well. Enjoy!
