Pork Guisantes Recipe (Pork and Peas)

Ingredients
  • 1 pound chopped pork butt
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 bay leaf
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 (10 oz.) package frozen peas
  • 1 small can pimento
Instructions
  1. In a skillet, brown pork, then add salt, pepper, onions, and garlic.
  2. Cook until pork is done.
  3. Add tomato sauce, vinegar, soy sauce, bay leaf, and water. If gravy is too thick, add more water.
  4. Add peas and cook until done. Top with pimento’s.
  5. Serve over hot rice.

  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, cubed
  • 1 pound pork, sliced into strips
  • 1 (15 oz.) can diced tomatoes
  • 1½ cups beef broth
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 large red bell pepper, sliced into strips
  • 1 (14 oz.) can sweet peas or 1½ cups frozen sweet peas
Instructions
  1. Heat oil in a large skillet and saute garlic and onions.
  2. Add pork and cook for 3 to 5 minutes
  3. Add diced tomatoes and beef broth and let boil. Simmer until the pork is tender, approximately 30-45 minutes.
  4. Season with salt and pepper and stir.
  5. Next, add bell pepper and cook for another 5 minutes.
  6. Add peas and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Serve with hot rice.
