Pipi Kaula Recipe
Cuisine: Hawaiian Local Style
- 4 pounds flank steak
- ⅓ cup Hawaiian salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups shoyu
- 5 Hawaiian chili peppers, minced
- Sprinkle flank steaks with salt.
- Mix sugar, shoyu and chili peppers.
- Pour over steaks and marinate overnight in refrigerator.
- Cook in smoker or covered barbeque for 1 hour.
- Slice across grain.
Optional: Add crushed garlic, ginger and liquor to taste.
