Local Style Miso Salmon

Very simple but tasty. We doubled the recipe to serve four people. If you’re cooking for two, just cut ingredients in half. Enjoy!

Miso Salmon
Cuisine: Japanese Local Style Recipe
  • Marinade:
  • ¼ cup white miso
  • ¼ cup mirin
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • Salmon:
  • 2 pounds salmon steaks or fillets
  • Glaze:
  • ¼ cup white miso
  • ¼ cup tablespoons mirin
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  1. Marinade: Mix together marinade ingredients. In a baking dish or plastic ziploc bag, add marinade and salmon. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
  2. Glaze: Mix glaze ingredients and set aside.
  3. Bake prep: Line a shallow baking dish with foil and place marinated salmon on it. Discard excess marinade. Broil for approximately 5 minutes and flip salmon and broil for 2 more minutes. Take it out just before it's cooked.
  4. Spread glaze on top of salmon and broil for a 2 to 4 minutes, or until glaze is heated through and salmon is cooked. Be sure check frequently.
