Macadamia "Dreamy" Bars Recipe
Cuisine: Hawaiian Local Style
Ingredients
  • Crust
  • 1 block butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • Filling
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1½ cups shredded coconut
  • 1 cup macadamia nuts, chopped
  • Powdered sugar (optional)
Instructions
  1. Crust:
  2. Cream together, mix well.
  3. Pat into bottom of ungreased 9x9 pan.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
  5. Filling:
  6. Beat eggs, add brown sugar and vanilla.
  7. Sift flour, baking powder and salt, then add to egg mixture.
  8. Fold in coconut and macadamia nuts, spread on baked crumbly mixture right after it is taken out from the oven.
  9. Return to oven and bake at 325 degrees for about 20 minutes.
  10. Cool and cut into squares. Dust with powdered sugar.
