Baked Shoyu Chicken

Simple Japanese local style baked shoyu chicken. A little lighter on the shoyu with a sweet mirin sauce. Be sure to spoon sauce over hot rice. Enjoy!

Baked Shoyu Chicken
Cuisine: Japanese Local Style Recipe
Ingredients
  • 2 pounds chicken thighs (can also use different chicken parts)
  • Flour, salt and pepper (for browning)
  • Sauce
  • ⅓ can chicken broth
  • ⅛ cup shoyu
  • ⅛ cup mirin
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 slice ginger, crushed
  • Garnish
  • 3-4 stalks green onion, chopped
Instructions
  1. Salt and pepper chicken. Then flour and fry until browned. Place browned chicken in baking dish.
  2. Mix together sauce ingredients and pour sauce over chicken.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.
  4. Garnish with green onions.
